I am getting everything ready to sleeve my PSU and I was looking to get MDPC sleeve because it looks nice, read a alot of good things about it, and its the cheapest dense sleeve I can get.

Can anyone here comment on quality? or what they think about it?
 
small size is too large for 18 ga. wire imo. medium size is perfect for sata cables. i prefer the flexo or techflex, whatever it is, idk, from mcmaster-carr in the 1/8 dia. for 18 ga. wire. it's still good, a bit better than the other stuff, which is still 90% of what mdpc-x is.
 
I've used MDPC stuff in three builds so far and it's far better than the stuff I can source locally - will happily keep buying it and using it in future builds. It's top-notch.
 
Thanks for the replies guys! I ordered some over the weekend. I read at a lot of places that its the best you can buy and for how much i got it was cheaper to get mdpc sleeve than any other (of dense quality). I figured go with the best for my first sleeve job!

I still have a brand new bag of MDPC black sleeving kit for an entire PSU. Been sitting in the closet for 2 years, never got to use it because stripping a Corsair HX1000 is a PITA.
 
Striping as in taking the original sleeve off? or taking the cables out if the connectors?

I found it pretty easy with a staple and a pair of needle nose. Probably not as easy as a tool would be..
 
I couldn't for the life of me get the pins off. Maybe some day I will work up the nerve to do it but right now it's just way too much effort. Took me 30 minutes to get 1 damn pin from the PCI-E connector.
 
Mine did take that long the first time too. So knowing me i like to tinker took one of the modular cables I dont use and thought there has to be a trick to it. And i finally did it enough times to know the feel of what was right and what was wrong and shaved down the time to a minute tops. Some go faster in the 10 seconds or less.

To me i guess better to get it out in a long time to avoid damage then try to rush and break something.
 
I'm working on an order myself and so far I'm up to like $150 haha...

I'm really just torn on colors though. I picked up the FT02-WRI from WorldExclusive (great seller btw), and am going with a red/black scheme I think. The question is how do I want to do sleeve colors???? Just red and black? Or a third color just for something different since red/black is so common? Should it be all red, all black, all black with a few strands of red, black out the PSU and then switch to red mid-sleeve to blend with the case, or something else? ARGH!!! So many choices!!!!

I went with B-Magic and black for mine


What you may want to check out is doing more red than black. A lot of red and black builds in the sleeving at least focus on a few strands of red and alot of black. Just an Idea!
 
Well what would be a good 3rd color choice in this (mobo is getting changed along with some other stuff to make it more of a theme):

I just went to the local Army/Navy store and picked up some paracord and bought some 3/16 4:1 heatshrink from the hardware store. I spent $25 and sleeved 2 PSU's. I think it looks just as good as the kits.
