i'm gonna be getting one maybe next week, and was wondering if anyone on here had one, on a overclocked 3000+ venice? i'm hitting 2.8ghz right now on air, and am hoping to be able to raise the ceiling with water... already have the whole rig, including 2 pumps, i've been watercooling for a few years, just had to stick with stock cooler when i upgraded from a p4 to a venice... anyways, anyone have one? and if so what are your thoughts on it? i've checked out how it performs and seems to be one of the better blocks out there...
 
don't have one, can't offer direct comment, however it might help if you posted your current temps and voltages, and made a sig for yourself which includes info about your mobo and ram.
 
There isn't much reason to use two pumps with an mcw-6000. That block does not see a big benefit from increased flow. If you were going to get something like the new MP-05, a NexXxos XP, DD TDX, or Swiftech Storm then you would see a benefit by adding a second pump to the loop.
 
its nice having 2 pumps to have the ability to overcome the amount of tubing my system will have when i build my external water cooling setup... gotta have some decent power to get the water up into the water block... and from what i saw, of reviews the 6000 did have a bit better performance with higher flow...

no thanks, more work than i want to put into it... right now on stock hsf i'm running at about 45C idle, 49C under load, with a venice 3000+ oc'd to 2.8ghz on an epox 9NDA3J mobo, 2gb of off brand pc3200, running at 207mhz.
 
The mcw-6000 is a good block, but why not go for the best.....the Storm. This thing loves high flow, and with 2 pumps you should be feeding it more than enough to get 5-10c better temps than the 6000.

i don't know where you pulled that number from, however i'm thinking more like 2 C difference at the most, based on procooling's testing.

you need to be comparing to a pretty old or poorly designed block to get a 10C performance gap, as compared to the storm.

the 600x blocks are good blocks, although not the best. if the OP already has one, as he seems to be indicating that he does, then he should probably see how far that takes him, and know that even if he doesn't have the best performance going, he has good performance all the same.
 
i'm looking at things from a price/performance ratio, the mcw-6000 is only gonna cost me 40 bux, and should handle what i throw at it i think, i was just wanting to see other people's opinions on it is all... haven't got it yet, probly won't be for a few weeks now, gotta save my money to pay my bills for the 2 weeks i'm without a job...
 
The 600X should do a fair job for you, I ran one on a XP system for a while and compared it to a TDX and PolarFlo and they were all just about even on that system (plus or minus 1c) The 600X is still a good cost effictive alternative giving you good performance for your cooling dollar......... :D

Im running a 6000 block and it runs great for me. Dual 120 rad, MCP350 pump no GPU atm have it sittin next to me for the next time I empty my loop. Im getting wonderful temps compared to air on my very hot little prescott. Its handling a ton of wattage and still doenst break a sweat. Take the mobo cpu reported temps with a grain of salt, but this can give u a though to about temps. I doubt its workin this well but for comparasion. My chip running @ 108 watts gives me a CW of .05 and when I had it up to 130 watts it only raised to .08 CW. just a comparasion on what my mobo is readin the temps @.
