I was looking around and I found this out on system coolings website.

http://www.systemcooling.com/mcp350_mod-01.html

It is a mod that increases the overall flow of the mcp350 without adding any noise which I think rocks.

I also was looking around in their forums to see what people had to say. One guy posted a site that has a clear top that has the mod pretty much done for you which can be bought at this site.

http://www.alphacool.de/perl/shop.p...9&art_id=13902#

These two put together with some UV reactive dye in your water cooling system would put on quite a show

I dont think I would like to cut up my $80 new pump, I would feel bad. Cool mod though...

on a sidenote, I dont think that top from alphacomputer actually has any relation to that mod, it looks like it still has the same fitting placement, just makes it work for 1/4" tubing and is clear so it looks cool. The reduced tubing size of that top would actually hinder performance in most systems since most here are designed for 3/8 or 1/2" tubing.

1/2" tuding with the 350 is pointless the flow rate is so low that the pressure drop from it is not really a concern.

the results speak for themselves

i was going to test the alphacool top but its 41 euros to ship to the us and thats just as much as the pump itself over here

As far as the fitting placement on the clear top... did you notice the threaded holes on top? looks like a fitting would go right in there very nicely....

Another cool thing about it though if your just in it for the pretty is that it can be mounted in 2 3.5" bays leaving one open to the acrylic top....

eheim1250 is hardly sacred...it is a decent pump is all.

Back in the day before these watercooling-specific pumps came about, the 1250 was a top recommendation around here. It is a good pump, many times better than the shit I used before it.

yeah the top can used as a mini rez which is cool to because it saves space for those who has limited mounting space because of their double heatercore

After the modding dimension seems to increase close to that of MCP650. Considering they are priced similar, I would get 650 if you didn't already have pump. (Don't get me wrong, I have both 600 and 350 used).

but for the sound concious its mcp350 is the way to go, if you could quiet down the mcp650 then people would go towards that

This is all kind of distressing.

I just ordred the MCP350 for my new 1/2" setup and am wondering if I should have gone with 3/8" tubing or changed to a more powerful pump.

bubble : Dont get a different pump! Just do the mod on your 350, the performance will be close to that of the 650, and it will be a whole heck of a lot quieter.

The testing was done with 1/2" tubing, so there's no reason to worry about that, bubble. After the mod, it's as powerful as the MCP650 and better than most other pumps.

I'm almost tempted to get a MCP350 to mod and install, but my MCP600 is doing me fine for now. :)

yeah, I think I'm going to just stick with the stock pump setup for now. If my setup is underperforming, I'll mod it, but I might not really need to do that.

The 350 is smaller, quieter, puts out less heat and achieves more head which is what you want even more so than flowrate. High flow rate without much head isn't going to perform well once you add a couple waterblocks and a radiator.

You ordered a great pump.
