maximum current or power rating for fan headers?

Anyone know what the max power or current rating is for fan headers? I've got a couple relatively quiet 120mm fans that are only 0.08A at 12V, or just under 1W each. I'm wondering if I use a splitter, if I can vary the speed of both fans from one header.

Alternately, what's the highest current or power draw on a fan that does plug into the 3pin headers on a motherboard?

They will run off the header, but I'm not sure on the splitter q.

I saw somewhre that it is in the 4 or 5 w range for max draw
