Ok so this is my first real mod work. I was debating on whether or not to post this but I went ahead and did it anyway. The case is a Powmax micro atx with a stock 230w psu.

I kinda skipped the initial pics of when the case came in so i will post the pics from the website i bought the case from to show you what i am working with.

The Items for that will be going into the case:

ABIT NF-M2SV mobo
AMD 5000+ black edition
mATX 350w psu
1 or 2g or pc 6400 ram
either 80g or 160g hard drive
sata burner
and an 8500 gpu
dual 12' cold cathode lights
two chrome 60 mm fans (for the back - yea its that small)

Anyway here is the pics so far:

My plans are to paint the outside metallic black and the inside a berry red. I will cut out the side panel and have a 12' by 12' panel with about a 4'' flame design cut out near the bottom of the side panel. I will also sleeve the psu with chrome cable sleeving. Should have more pics tomorrow.

P.S. will a 350w psu support AMd 5000 BE plus 2g ram plus 8500 gpu a sata hard drive and a sata burner (plus lights of course)?

ok so i finally got some pictures. These are pictures of the inside of the case painted a berry red.

Here are some pics of some of the outside parts (some parts still need another coat of paint).

I have also started the chrome cable sleeving.

More parts coming in today and I still need to finish painting.

Also, do you think that the inside needs to have another coat applied?

Ok so yesterday I got in some goodies. when I test fitted the new PSU i noticed it did not sit flush. So i changed out the fan in my old PSU and put it in the new one to get rid of that bug hump.

Then I re-sanded the inside of the case and drilled holes for my new chrome 60mm fans.

I went to Autozone and picked up a red metal flake engine enamel that looks great (sorry no pics yet). I should have the whole case painted in the next couple of days.

P.S. I have two 8800 GTS 512 cards with aftermarket coolers that i need to sell. Let me know if your interested.

Any suggestions about putting fan grills on the back of the case? should I put modders mesh or just a regular grill?

I would use regular grill , better airflow ! Back of the case you usually cant see anyways.
Nice job so far.

Ok so most of the parts are finally painted. Im thinking about putting a mirror at the bottom of the case to reflect the red led lights that will be installed. I also want to paint a clear coat on top of everything but i dont no what to use. Any suggestions would be great.

Anyway here are pics of the painted parts with some things installed.

Small update today - painted part of the small 60mm fans metallic black to match case. Also ordered all (hopefully) remaining parts needed to complete the case. The PSU is painted red but i still need to cable sleeve it. debating whether i should stealth the DVD burner or paint it to match (any thoughts?). Also i ordered a ruby orb CPU cooler that i will hope look great as far as color scheme. Still need to work on cutting out the side panel for a window and some small flame design.

considering how little i liked the stock case, that's looking pretty damn good! is the red you're using more of a fire engine red, or more of an [H] maroon?

Will have pics tomorrow but i have run into two main problems. I got in my ruby orb today and when i installed it, itdid not fit. so i modified the dvd drive bay to make it fit. however, the dvd drive will not fit now because of the cpu cooler. so i think i will buy a notebook hard drive and use it instead. of course that means i have to stealth the drive bay if i go this route. second thing: when i booted up the system using it found the dvd drive but it will not boot from the cd - boot disk failure - the disk will boot any other machine. i hope the new drive will fix this problem. will have pics tomorrow of the update. still need to order a few more parts.

You going to be putting a window in your cd drive? A while ago, I bought a clear xbox case, and cut a window in the cd drive to see the cd spinning. Really easy too.

I thought about it, but with the new notebook cd drive i am getting i dont think i will. Anyway here are a few pics to show you why i have to get new burner.

First here is the pic of some new goodies

Nice work so far. That cooler is huge too! Wow. I look forward too seeing this mod get fleshed out.

You're actually using the Powmax PSU?

Yikes, those things have like a 90% failure rate. They'll die randomly and eventually.

update: The computer still wont boot but i think i got a bad burner. A new slim burner should be here today so we will see how that goes. Anyway i did get my temp sensor in yesterday. Here are some pics.

Oh and i also changed the rear fans a little

Sorry for the blurry pics

sorry to hear that about your burner, i think the red burner and black mounting looked bad ass !!

anyway keep up the good work !

Hehe, you got your board and back plate fucked up. That little tab IS NOT suppose to go over your ethernet port. Just want to warn you ahead of time before you see it after you get everything done.

Thanks i wouldn't have noticed that until I plugged the ethernet cable in. thanks!

You can just bend that little tab out so it doesn't interfere with your ethernet cable :p

Looks good. :)

ok so i got the mirror for the bottom of the case and i got the plexi for the side window. Will have pics of the mirror and a few adjustments tomorrow and hopefully some pics of the side window soon. Anyone have any ideas on how to draw flames on the case without having to sand the side down?

I installed the mirror today and it looks great. I also received my 7600 gt ko graphics card which looks really cool and i also got my notebook dvd burner. I stupidly forgot to buy the burner to ide connector so that i can use it in my case. Also the burner is a weird shape so i will have to make a drive cover to make the X look good. Will have pics sometime soon whenever i get my burner installed. Also - does anyone have a link to (or just knows how) to stealth a drive? I will have to stealth this little drive into a 5.25 drive bay. this will be a challenge.

the side window is cut out. Now working on the flames part of the window. have a few packages coming in the mail today and tomorrow that will let me continue to work. will try to have new pics tomorrow of the cut side panel.

ok i finally have a update. Here is the stuff i had to buy to make the trim work.

not sure if I read right, but a standard ATX psu does NOT fit in here?
