Help! I have massive cpu and memory use when I am running Windows Media Player 11 (ver. 11.0.5721.5230). I'm running an e8400 (not over clocked) with a gigabyte motherboard. Any ideas?
What are you trying to play in WMP? If you are trying to watch a Divx movie, it might be the codec and not WMP itself. In that case, try updating your codec with something like K-Lite Codec Pack.
You also might want to try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. Make sure you reboot between the uninstall and reinstall.
