Magny-Cours?

This is soo very true.

Nexus only pulls 200 watts from the wall and does 30k ppd.

When -bigadv comes to A3 I'm expecting a bump to 35k or more.

Now if SR-2 ever shows up, I wont take anything less then 50-60k ppd on ~300 watts.

Thus the reason I want to build 2 SR-2s. The pull from the wall is about what it takes to run 3 GX2's. Yes, the initial cost is high, but the reduction in long term costs (electricity) will make up the costs and still triple my current output.

Note that I mentioned 'at this time.' Who knows if there will be another paradigm shift at Stanford changing the whole scenario in the not too distant future...?

This is a very good point. If you just build bigadv systems with open PCIE slots on them, if the paradigm shifts again to favor the GPU so greatly, it isn't very hard to ditch the -bigadv tags and slot in some GPU's

There has been some indication in weeks past of a bonus system for GPU2 (or GPU3) similar to what they are doing for SMP2 & BigAdv. i7 rigs will (including the SR-2) will have plenty of PCIE slots so we can always load them up.

I will always have some GPU2 clients (at least in my sig rig) so I'll benefit from that, but I "hope" that the bonus for SMP2 & BigAdv stay around for a little while as the reduced heat from not running so many GPUs would be nice

The bonus for -bigadv and A3 units isn't going anywhere.

im sorry whats a Nexus? I am guessing your not talking about the phone? lol

From Kendrak's sig:

Nexus: Dual E5530, 8GB RAM, Asus Z8NA Motherboard (for folding -bigadv WU)
