Finally broke my old Quantum 13gig drive [ it had died, it was a good drive to
] open and got at the magnets..
But, their frail as hell. First time I accidentally let the magnets collide, a big chunk of one broke off and almost turned to powder.
Now, my question is....is this just because its an old hardrive, so they used a different magnet?
Do they use different, stronger, more durable magnets in newer drives?
