So I was trying to change my 750GB My Book external HDD from HFS+ to FAT32 (because I want to see how that affects its pairing with an Airport Extreme for use as NAS). On my MBP there isn't an option to format as FAT of any kind so I told it to format it as MS-DOS so that I could (I hoped) read the drive on my windows maching (because it couldn't read the HFS+ format) and then I could finally format it as FAT32. Now, the formatting of the drive from HFS+ to MS-DOS froze and stopped before it was completed. Now my drive is not readable on either of my machines.

Where should I go from here?

Western Digital Support?
maybe it's not readable, but doesn it show up in disk manager (in windows)?

Hard to tell id you have data you want to save on the drive or not, but if not, just zero out the first 10 megs, and reformat it.

You just got a mixed up partition table that needs to be cleared off (you can use any hex editor that views disks in raw format) or grab DBAN and do it with a bootable CD
