My boss just handed me this G3 Mac running OS 9.2. I went to the Stanford site and noticed the mac console is for OSX only? Is their an older version or something that will work with this machine??

P.S. for any mac users out there ... how do I check the specs of this machine? (ram, hd, mhz, etc.)
 
I know nothing about FreeBSD, and next to nothing about macs.

I checked out the (a) freeBSD web site and it seemed like it's an OS made to run on a variety of architectures (nice idea!). If this is the case, despite what the computer might be capable of I don't think I'd be allowed to do that kind of modification to this machine. (this boss is way up tight)

I'm imagining a dual-instalation of the OS's, possibly even wiping this machine clean. If that's not the case, let me know.
