If you want outstanding sound quality for your desktop and pickup a pair of this ones DSM1, and want to use its spdif input, how can you get both plugged having just one spdif output on your pc's onboard sound device?

if I'm understanding you right, you're asking how it works if you purchase two DSM1's and want stereo output?

theres a configuration switch on the DSM1 that sets which channel its supposed to be, you simply daisy chain the DSM1's together and put your computer's output on the input side of said chain, set the switches, and it works out

why it works:
a S/PDIF signal has stereo data (well, can have, it may also be mono of course; these speakers don't do AC-3 or DTS so thats unrelated), you're simply telling the decoder in the speaker which "half" of that signal to decode and use

There should be a spdif 'Thru' which you use to connect the other monitor to and select each one to it's channel left/right.

Kudos on the monitors btw, they're very nice.
