I would like to mount these small heatsinks :

Mudder 8 Pieces Black Aluminium Heatsink Cooling Radiator Kit for Raspberry Pi 3 , 2 Pi , Pi Model B +
https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B01GE7Q060/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

on a this disk:

ssd samsung m.2 : Samsung SM951 , M.2 PCIe SSD 256 GB .
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-MZVP...472378459&sr=8-5&keywords=Samsung+SM951+256GB

My motherboard is mini-ITX and the m.2 slot is located below the motherboard (the space is very limited) . The PCI Express slot is already occupied by the video card.

I have only one doubt: Up to the M.2 disk there are stickers (as photo) on the chips as usual for almost all m.2 discs .

I wonder if I necessarily remove these stickers to mount the heatsink .

Removal of these adhesives could compromise the resale or the warranty of these discs that are a bit expensive .

I need to remove these stickers to mount the heatsink ?

thank you !

Does not void warranty to remove the sticker. It is illegal to do so.
Removing the label is the best idea. You'll have to use thermal epoxy anyway to mount the heatsinks, so you may as well get the best surface as possible and remove the sticker.
Also, if you look in the booklet that came with your drive, the warranty conditions state that you should save the sticker, and mentions nothing about the sticker and keeping the warranty intact. Peel it off and put it on the back of the drive.

Hi alxlwson,

thank you for your reply.

Probably add a heatsink don't solve the problem.

Samsung 950 Pro M.2 Additional Cooling Testing

in this article affirm that to add a more airflow is much better then add a heatsink.

what do you think about this additional fan:

My case is:
U2 | U-Series | Jonsbo | Cooltek

with stock one fan of 12 cm, but I wll add another supplemental fan 12 cm:
http://noctua.at/en/products/fan/nf-.../specification

CPU i5 6600t 2.7 GHZ (35 watt) with this cooler:
ARCTIC | Freezer 13 CO

what do you think ?

I think adding the heatsinks and the fan would be ideal. Increasing the surface area is always good.

Also, unless you can point the fan directly at the card, it isn't going to help much at all without the heatsinks

What's the purpose here?

M2 drives can and will quickly overheat and then throttle performance. Now people are realizing that putting the drive connections on the back of tiny motherboards was a bad idea and they are looking for solutions to keep the drives from running like crap.
