"low signal strength"

I just stuck in my 9800 pro, and installed the drivers successfully. When i rebooted my computer it went through the loading bars screan for windows xp pro, then my lcd monitor flickered and a box appeared saying "low signal strength". The booting process wouldnt go any further, i am wondering what i did wrong, or what needs to be done.
 
I just gave this 9800 pro (out of system in my sig) to him (one of my friends). It was working just fine 2 hours ago. Just thought I'd add that.
 
Did the computer produce that error message or was it the LCD's OSD that produced the error?
 
This one falls into the need more info bin I think. Is the 9800 Pro new or is it the first time you have used it? What about the monitor? I would try isolating components (VC, monitor) by testing on another rig if that is an option.

If I had any idea I'd of said in the first place... All I can say is check the basics... switch parts out. I'm clueless beyond that, sorry.
