I have situation where I am looking to add a video card to a core2duo 2.8 Ghz low profile system. A case swap is not an option unfortunately so I need a half height card for some light gaming. L4D2 is likely the most demanding game going to be run on it. What's the best out there. I have been looking at some 9800GT, 4650, and 5570 low profile cards but was just wondering what your experiences were with those types of cards. It ran with a 4870 with the side of the case off just fine for a month so it seems likely the PSU will be able to handle any low profile card I were throw at it just fine. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

"Why don't you just put it in a full sized case and use the 4870?" Trust me. I want to, but it is not an option due to the stubbornness of various parties.
 
You could always just replace the PCI bracket with a low profile one.

I modded one for a low profile Dell, just took one of the extras from the case, and cut a hole big enough for the DVI/VGA ports. Just an idea. ;)
