Anyone know why I would be getting roughly 800PPD out of a Dual Xeon?

It does not detect the CPU's at startup (says 0 cored and 0 threads) and when the client shuts down it gives me a code=127 error

What OS? Which model of Xeons specifically? Have you met the 10-unit minimum for bonus points? Can you post a log file?

The more info you give us, the more help we can be.

if you could, grab the log file for us, something is wrong with it not recognizing the CPU's for sure, i dont know the codes, hopefully someone can pop in who does know), but that log file will be a big help.

OS - Server 2003
Dual Xeon 3.06 Poweredge 2600
10 Unit min - Not yet

As it sets right now....it says 0.00 PPD

You can ignore the crappy CPU detection in GPU Tracker. The actual client is spawning four threads correctly as indicated by your logfile here:

[14:12:30] - Calling '.\FahCore_a3.exe -dir work/ -nice 19 -suffix 01 -np 4 -nocpulock -checkpoint 3 -forceasm -verbose -lifeline 876 -version 634'

See where it says -np 4? That means it is launching four threads.

You have Pentium 4 Xeons and are averaging a TPF of 25:29 - You are only seeing ~800PPD because you are running too close to the bonus deadline. 800 PPD is an accurate calculation based on that TPF.

Edit: Wait, you only have two single core Xeons? The client then is spawning too many threads. Those Xeons do not have hyper-threading.

Task manager shows 4 cores.

Just wanting to make sure its doing what it should.

Do you happen to know the specific model of xeon you have? Paxville Xeons of that time based off the Smithfield (Pentium D) core, and they were dual core.

Intel Xeon 3.06 Prestonia 3.06GHz 512KB L2 Cache 1MB L3 Cache Socket 604 Processor BX80532KE3066E

If I remember correctly a P4 HT was good for about 400ppd so with your setup 800ppd sounds about right. Since you are going to be just making the deadline or not even making it on some SMP WU. Quicker something is done the more bonus points you get.
