HI, I have a r9 290 and Im getting low fps in bf4. Im playing online and in some maps im getting like 80-90 fps. This is with nothing maxed out and everything on medium/high. And its weird b/c nothing changes when I set the settings even lower. The fps just stays the same.. why is this happening? I downloaded the beta drivers but nothing changed.

Really would like some help, thanks

are you forgetting few things about.. as: resolution?. Processor?. RAM?. GPU its not the whole system. and bf4 its sensitive for all of the mentioned things..

Hard to say without knowing your system specs or resolution you play at, could be even related to your graphics drivers. Bf4 is pretty buggy though so it could just be the game itself.

im sorry i forgot to mention a lot of stuff

Asus 144 hz. This is with settings medium/low (resolution scale at 70%)

CPU: 4760k windows 8 16gb ram 1980 X 1080

No matter what I do the FPS just stays the same. Like I lowered it expecting more fps and nothing happened ( using draw fps to show me fps)
I would like to try the lightboost app and I need to maintain 120 fps in order for it to work.

Shouldnt I be able to max everything out? I read somewhere the CPU can be a problem? But i figured a 4670k would give me no problems.. temp wise I see mid 30s idle for the CPU. GPU temps looked fine (50s to 70s)

is there like a power saving mode or something? I feel like i overlooked something stupid.

thanks

Optimal is to use 14.2 beta driver, enable Mantle in BF4 and set for borderless vs full screen as it seems to give higher fps and also appears to reduce screen tearing without enabling vsync that locks to 60 fps.

R9 290X set for 1080p low with the above settings in campaign mode get ~160 fps up to 200 fps and ~100+ fps in 64 person multiplayer.

Your never going to get above any better than 80 fps minimum in 64 player maps. No cpu will do that. Your only chance is mantle. Why would you need a constant 120fps for light boost ? Even my 3930k dropped to 90 - 100 fps sometimes with my 670 sli setup.
