I recently took all the components out of my case to dust and everything is working perfectly with the exception that it seems like the fans are running at full 100% all the time now. I've got an Antec 300 with all available slots full (4x120,1x140) and my PC is audible rooms away when its quiet. I switched the front two 120mms from the 2 'fan only' power connectors on my PSU their own 4pin molex each so that could explain the increase of noise but reallyyyyyyyyyy... I mean I am talking jet engines here, is it possible?

These are the 120mm's I am currently using...

So what are my options? I feel like just buying quad D12SL-12's but if they are just going to spin at max it may not even fix my problem.
 
huh? why dont you just switch them back to the fan only connectors?
 
Perhaps try purchasing some of these fans. S-Flex fans are really really good at being quiet. You also could (depending upon your motherboard) hook them to the fan connectors on it and control them via the BIOS.

I have the ability to set a temp for the fans to keep the mobo at, the BIOS then controls the rpm's as long as the case doesnt get too hot.

I also recommend Noctua fans. These both cost more, but their noise ratio is damn near silent. I have 6 120mm Noctua fans and 3 230mm fans running in my ATCS 840 and I cant hear them at 1000rpm at all.

It sounds like you accidentally flipped the speed switches on the back of the case. The fact that you switched their power supply shouldn't matter, since they're controlled manually. Switch them back to the previous settings and you should be good to go. Fans don't just suddenly become louder for no good reason.
 
hook them up on your controller....

and thats a lot.
 
cut out the fan grill on both front fans, exhaust fan and top fan. hook the fans to a fan controller. this is what im I'm doing. then im going to put the fan grills on the top fan and the exhaust fan. the front intakes dont need grills. the honeycomb patterns increases db.
