I've had one of my boxes working since sunday on 7500 wu.
Now it gets down to 6 seconds left on the screen, 7497/7500, (gui client)

I am rdping the machine and click the x to close the session, but leave it running.
Well the machine pukes on me, gets slow, unresponsive, and I had to reboot.
So now when I get back into it it shows it hasn't done any WU's, and it's back on 0/7500.
So is this work completely gone now?

I would suggest you check the unitinfo.txt file in the root of your F@H directory. Look specifically for information related to early unit end, and information on sending back to Stanford. That will show you whether or not the unit was sent back at all, and if you got credit for it.

Edit: Here is the line that denotes early unit end :

[23:22:57] Folding@home Core Shutdown: EARLY_UNIT_END]

Current Work Unit
-----------------
Name: p2002_ab1-43_4mer_opls
Download time: May 18 00:08:14
Due time: July 8 00:08:14
Progress: 0% [__________]

This is what it says.
I have a feeling it's all gone.

Whoops, my bad, not unitinfo.txt, FAHlog.txt and FAHlog-prev.txt. Those two are the files I meant to tell you. They'll have all the console information as if it were running in front of you.

ok yeah, that bites.
Well, might as well remove the old gui and put in the service client
