Hello All,

i am looking to do some studio recording and some outdoor recordings at different venues this summer and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good lossless recording soundcards or PCMCIA cards, i would like th hear them. Thanks

You can try EMU line of cards or Maudio. They are decent for the price.

Also, lossless has little to do with hardware, it's the codec. If you are doing studio work, start with wav files. You will have to edit/enhance it anyway. So, just convert it to wav after you are done with the production side.

EMU 1616 PCMCIA soundcard with I/O breakout box. Records at up to 192kHz/24-bit. I'd recommend the widely used semi-pro digital studio practice of doing the track recording and mixdown at 96kHz/24-bit, then resample the master to CD-audio (44.1kHz/16-bit). 88.2 kHz sample rate is also possible on some sound cards, allowing for smoother re-sampling to CD-audio and reducing the load on the DSP/CPU compared to 96kHz.
