Currently have an amd 955 at 3.2ghz but can overclock as I have an antec ku ler 920
8gig of corsair dominator ram but my HD4890s I had in cf have just died.
A radeon 7970 is a bit out of my price range.
 
I'm assuming you want to stay with AMD:)
6950/70 after Kepler launch. 5870/5850 could work as well if you don't care that much about DX11.
 
Yeah I'll stay with amd to potentially take advantage of crossfire again. Have some doubts about it tho considering skyrim is my most played game and its not even crossfire capable.

Not sure what to say, Skyrim is not a demanding game..

I play Skyrim with over 100 fps on a 5770 so.... Id say, get whichever card you want in your budget range...
 
skyrim isnt the only game i play! thinking of a 7870 but they havnt got water blocks made for em?
