My current setup is a Core i7 2600k running at 4.0Ghz with 8GB of RAM and eVGA SLI GTX 680s.
I recently switched to a 2560x1440 monitor and it has brought my 2GB graphics cards to a crawl in games such as Crysis 3 and ARMA 2. I was giving some thought to upgrading to the Socket 2011 platform and then perhaps even getting a pair of Geforce Titans in SLI. ARMA 2 seems to be very CPU limited, whereas Crysis 3 is just eating up my GPU memory. Seems as if upgrading to the Socket 2011 would both improve my FPS performance in ARMA 2? I was wondering what you guys thoughts were on the matter?

You'd be better served trying to oc your cpu further by getting a better cooler or something. Most games only make use of one or two cores on a CPU at most, so switching to 2011 you won't see massive boosts unless you also apply significant overclocks, and even then you will probably not see a huge difference in performance vs an overclocked 2600k.
