Looking to get a Cisco 4900

Unfortunatley I don't have any experience with those, yet. :)

I would imagine they don't have the same limitations since they are a higher-end switch, but you never know. Do you have a Cisco rep you can call or email. I could probably send ours an email....

The 4948's do NOT have any kind of HSRP vlan limitation, even though the limitation is a restriction to the protocol itself. We had around 100 or so VLANs running HSRP with our 4948's in production.

Also, I believe that the 32 VLAN limitation is per HSRP group...might want to try that out.
 
someone at cisco support told me it only supports max 32 VLANs....(not hsrp groups). how is this possible for a $10000 piece of equipment?!
