I'm looking into setting up a farm and have one main question. What motherboards support booting from a network? Right now I haven't setteled on using AMD or Intel procs so give me some options.

Thanks

most any with onboard NIC's

check manual before buying of course

Also, very very rare buy some get picky about not having a keyboard

Yeah. I just had to turn the halt on error off. it seemed to clear it up. But it all depends on the BIOS.

Older computers will halt on the "no keyboard" error. No way around it.

Newer computers are more flexible. You can change the bios to not halt on any errors, such as no keyboard, no mouse, no floppy, and no video.

With the newer computers comes the ability to network boot.

Check ebay. I did.

I ended up with ten dual Xeon motherboards for less than $400. I forget how much exactly.

Now I am working on the other stuff... memory, CPUs, HSF, etc.

Good luck. Best Wishes.

you can also just look around and get good deals on stuff i have bought about 1000+ ppd for not that much $$
