Looking for help setting up Thecus 4100Pro

HI all,

I've got a brand new Thecus 4100Pro with 2x2TB all set up and ready to go. But I can't get my network to recognize it. I tried plugging it directly into my router (D-Link 655) but no love. Then I tried directly into PC, but again no love.

Thecus rep says I need to connect laptop directly to WAN port, change address to 192.168.1.100 and then change LAN IP to 192.168.0.100. I don't know how to do this.

I had similar problems with a Patriot NAS box that I got used here on H. My system just didn't recognize it at all. I put it down to a faulty box and forgot about it. Thought a BNIB NAS would work better but it hasn't.

I used Cisco's Network Magic Pro to create and manage my home network (2 x Vista 64 boxes + an XP laptop), and wondering if that is the problem.

Really need some help with this, as I've reached the end of my patience.
