I got fed up playing games at low resolution 1680 X 1050 with my dell 22 inch display. I am looking for an upgrade, that should make me feel a brand new experience in gaming. Now 2 options that I am considering therefore need suggestion from you guys

1) Upgrade to 1920 X 1200: I am not sure if I will feel a whole lot different playing at this resolution using U2411 or ZR24W.
So overall it might me a minor incremental upgrade. What is your suggestion.

2) Upgrade to 2560 X 1600: 30 inch displays are still premiumed and I might need the next generation 22NM graphic card in order to play games like Crysis and BFBC2.
So overall I might have to wait for almost an year in order to see how 22NM cards on horizon. What is your suggestion?

Out of these 2 options what should I go for? I want a total new / realistic experience in gaming. I don't like eyefinity because of bazel and my there isn't much room on my table to have 3 22 inch displays for eyefinty

I'd go for the 30" 2560x1600 display if you can afford it. It's the best thing you'll get without going the eyefinity/nvid surround route, and will give you a nice physical size boost too.

But for that you have to wait for an year to get the next generation 22NM card. Because only those cards can play games like Crysis, BC2 at high settings at that resolution

Sure, that's why all the multi-monitor gamers spend all day crying because they need to run all their games on "low"

That is what I would do as well. If you have to do a SLI or Crossfire setup; oh well. This is the [H]ard Forum right!

Split the difference and get a 27" display like the Dell u2711 w/ a 2560 x 1440 resolution.

If you don't need a ridiculously high DPI, and don't think you can keep your graphical quality settings high w/ such a resolution w/ your hardware, just get a 27" 1080p display at considerable savings.

Personally, I went w/ the 30" for the extra size, and had plenty of GPU for the resolution w/ my crossfire setup, but it does cost a pretty penny.

Was not impressed w/ eyefinity on 3 x 24" monitors. Games were optimized for 16:9 aspect ratios, and the ultra-wide ratio of a three monitor display simply works piss-poor on many game titles, and the GPU requirements are VERY high.

If unusable HUDs causing you to get carpel tunnel slapping your mouse across the table and jerking your neck left and right with massive fishbowl distortion on your outer monitors doesn't bother you, its FANTASTIC!
