looking for an led backlit lcd

i am looking for a monitor about 20 - 24 inches in size with a full array led back light
nothing too fancy, i would be happy with a wled array with global dimming but i have even found that hard to find since every monitor on earth is edge-lit

so my question is: does such a thing exist or not?
 
LED backlit monitors aren't nearly as good as CCFL for color quality and uniformity. So I assume you're willing to trade that for lower power usage and possibly a more thin monitor, right?
 
Just buy some sort of PVA/MVA if you're looking for deep blacks. Samsung has a few.

ok i admit i was wrongly under the impression that LED monitors could deliver an equal quality but better blacks due to dimming , also the power consumption and the thickness of a full array led is about equal to a ccfl

i was originally thinking of getting a TN display due to both my relatively low budget and the fact i was going to do a bit of gaming on it.
the only ips in my budget is an lg ips226v but it's unfortunately an edge lit led and suspiciously it costs half the price of pretty much every other IPS monitor and has an 8ms response

so my question is: is a TN monitor with decent backlight better than an IPS with a crappy backlight?

unfortunately i live on the wrong side of the pond, that monitor is pretty much sold out in the uk at every other shop and i am aware that samsung has discontinued that monitor

how do you actually find out if a monitor is PVA/MVA/IPS/TN?
every moitor company seem to omit this infomation from their so called "technical specification" and every shop on earth seem to market everything for the technologically retarded
and google is pretty much shit at returning clear list as well
