Simple, practical case. Nothing cheap, but it goes in my family's kitchen, so it can't be one of those flamboyant, blacklit, Alienware-style ones. Something like the standard Dell case, but with innards as respectable as any of the rest.

for a kitchen? i'd say go with a shuttle or other small case... but that's just me

More info please:

Do you have parts for it already?
If so what type of motherboard (ATX, mATX, etc)?

if you are not looking for a powerhouse of a system (can't see why in the kitchen) you might want to check out something like THIS or go to www.mini-itx.com and see what they have there...you can be VERY creative with those boards too

Build a desktop style case, and make it an under-cabinet mount.

What's that?

Sorry for the confusion. Here's a 2-minute sketch of the kitchen:

As you can see, its in a location where the family and guests can see it all the time. Which is why I want something simple, yet high-performance.

It's gonna house an ATX AMD64, and I've already got a 500W PSU. To match the scheme of everything else, it would help if it was black.

If you can just tell me some good sites, it would be appreciated. I'll mess around and see if I can find something. Thanks :p

The perfect case i could think of (rather then a shuttle <3) would be the origonal Antec Lanboy nice and small but fits everything beautifully..plus its got a lockin front door to keep out little kids...... hehe
