ok im installing an auto-pc in my car, i need a very clear and bright screen with built in touch, preferably usb. im looking for a 10" touchscreen lcd. i have spent hours on earthlcd.com, but it looks like that site is for people a little more advanced than me with lcd's. i am looking for a thin lcd that has a usb touch screen.

im not quite sure how the touchscreen is hooked up, i am assuming that u connect the usb cable and xp recognizes a pointing device, when u touch the screen it changes the touch into X and Y coords.

so my questions are, does anyone know of a very reputable site that sells a clear, bight screen, that has a built in touchscreen?

if earth lcd does, can u give me a link and maybe a small expanation of how to make this work in my car?

are touchscreens easy to setup?

last thing, would it be possible to run an extension vga cable from the front of my vehicle where the lcd will be to the rear of the vehicle when the computer will be, aprox 15 foot cord, with no problems?

thank you all in advance!

i do, there's the lilliput which i'm gonna use, or the xenarc which is more expensive and better (they used it on pimp my ride.) I believe they have a 10" model but the usual standard is a 7" which fits in a double-din. www.mp3car.com sells some. There are also a few others but what your looking for is the touch sensitvity -xenarc, cost -lilliput, the types of inputs vga, or composite, and how it connects through a lighter or a molex cable. I would get the xenarc IF i had the money which i don't. Get back to me on what your doing because i'm starting my car pc hopefully soon.

As far as easy to setup, yes just plug in a few cables.
Touchscreen sometimes it doesn't work, and it works by usb if it does work.
Extension cables for VGA, yea they sell them and you'll probably need like 20' or something.

sweet thx alot Qwertyman, that xenarc 10.4 looks really nice, for about $600, not bad, 1.6" inches thick tho... might be a tad to thick, but with case removed.... hmm... just have to have to buy one and try it
