Looking for a radiator....

Hey all, I'm just starting to research my first watercooling project, and I'm hoping somebody can point me in the direction of a good radiator. The problem I'm having is that the only viable place in my case (silverstone TJ07) to mount it would be on the back, where there are two 92mm fans. It seems that the only 92mm radiator in existence is that thermochill one, and there aren't even any on ebay. Are there any good options for me or should I start looking for a new case? Cutting/drilling isn't much of an option, esp. since the whole top of the case is pretty much unusable. It has this mesh cage with 2x 120mm fans in it, but it's designed in such a way that the fans attach to the bottom of the cage, not the case. If I were to take the cage out, the hole in the top is too wide, so a 120mm fan would just go right through it.

hmmm, well, if I did that I would have to cut it apart anyway. if I was going to do that I would probably just cut it and leave it as-is. The other problem, though, is that the two 120's are kinda far apart. From what I've seen so far it looks like most rads are designed for two 120mm holes right next to each other. In this cage thing, the fans are about a half inch apart.

Perhaps you could mount one of Swiftec's Radboxes somewhere. Have you looked into that?

BTW: 15 batteries = not funny. It's a serious question for a 24 VDC power supply.

Yeah I'd seen those, but I dunno, just not thrilled about having that thing hanging off the back of the case like that. Thanks for the suggestions, though.

Now is it just me, or is 3/8" ID more common than 1/2"? I was hoping to use 1/2" ID.

If you want 24v DC, then just wire a Yellow and the only blue on the 20-pin (pin number 12) and you'll get 24v. One is +12, one is -12, so it acts like a +24.

Don't blame me if it doesn't work.

I dunno. Half the bottom is taken up by the psu (case is made to take two psu's), and I'm not sure where I could screw the rad in. There's mesh down there on both side panels.

It might be possible to screw it into the mesh if it seems strong enough and if the holes aren't too big. Otherwise you could replace the mesh on one side with an Al sheet and mount the rad on that.

Most rads would use normal fan screws, correct? I'm not sure if it work. Forgive the n00bness but what exacntly is an AI sheet?

The a rad should come with screws.

Ah ok. I just figured that if they keep listing the rads per fan size that they would use the same screws.

Also, I thought aluminum but wanted to be sure

The only thing I'm not thrilled about is that it won't take 1/2" tubing, but I guess I could do the whole system 3/8" id.
