I've narrowed it down to a few options, but don't know what to get. I want something that is good all-arounder. I game, spend a lot of time on the internet and doing work on it. And I also use my computer to watch movies and TV so the monitor has to have decent viewing angles.

My first choice as of right now. Circuit City has for 329 right now. Want hear a about a few more experiences first.
LG L204WT + HDCP
- LG.Philips LM201WE3 20"WS TN Film 16.7 (8-Bit) screen
- TN screen would lead to small viewing angles

Also looks very good, and many seem to reccomend it.
Viewsonic VX2025WM - (no HDCP???) I couldn't find
- MVA screen from what I could find

Many like Dell, the reason I am leaning away is because I want to buy from a retail store, and be able to return easily if there is a problem with it. And I want it as soon as I pay for it.
Dell 2007WFP - HDCP
- IPS screen

Any others in this price range worth looking at?

Others I have looked at are the Sceptre x20g, but no HDCP

Dell with S-IPS all the way. Much better(excellent) viewing angles than on the MVA/TN. As far as the other two it is a wash. I actually find TN panel viewing angles on the horizontal less distracting then MVA washout. But if you use the screen in portrait mode that reverses as the vertical angles are much worse on TN. IPS is better than both, in both directions.

Quoted from the article posted above:
"Also, the Dell could be highly recommended. It is fast, has very good ergonomics, exemplary finishing touches, and very accurate color quality from the start. So, what’s the problem? There is the inconsistency in the choice of panels. It is disturbing to know that Dell changes components and liquid crystal technology without informing the customer. Yes, we tested a very good monitor here, but there is no guarantee that you will buy the same one in the future. "

That and the color banding have worried me about the Dell. The new 2007WFP's are supposed to have fixed the banding issues though. Customer service from Dell seems to vary a lot too, I want a monitor that isn't going to be a problem to return if there is a dead pixel, or any other problem.

The review seemed to like the 2025WM, but can someone confirm that it isn't HDCP? If i'm buying a new monitor it might as well be HDCP, so if it doesn't then the viewsonic is out.

Well, as far as I know the VX2025WM isnt HDCP enabled, the LG L204WT actually has some impressive specs so might be worth a look. Yes its an TN panel and suffers with poor vertical viewing angles but you should'nt count it out since it might bother you and it might not. Its really up to you

20-inch L204WT LCD
16:10 wide format display
LG DFC technology with HDCP support
2,000:1 contrast ratio
5ms response time
1,680 x 1,050-pixel
DVI and analog interface

Big thread on it here if you havent spotted it already..
