I'm in the market for a new case and was curious if anyone had any suggestions on a case I might have missed. My current case is an Antec P180b that's been slightly modded to allow better cable management. Here is what I'm looking for in a new case:

  1. Classy, minimalistic design(Try to avoid flashy cases)
  2. Best air cooling potential while also being decently quiet
  3. Separate chambers for PSU/Motherboard(Like P180)
Number 3 isn't a requirement, just something that would be nice. I've currently got my eye on the Lian Li PC-X500 and PC-X1000, but I'm a little worried about the cooling potential with the X500 and the price is a little daunting. I also don't require space for a shit load of HD's, just 2 or 3.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. :)

Check out the Corsair 800D. It does seem to match your criteria. Granted, I'm biased.

Thanks for the recommendation, Redbeard. I've had my eye on the Corsair 800D, it's a beautiful case but I'm a little worried about overall airflow. My system is overclocked pretty heavily so I'm looking for the best temps possible without going watercooling.

Have you looked at the P183?
It seems to meet your requirements.

i7-860, 8GB, GTX275, 2xSegate 500GB drives, CP850

I just put it together last night and played through the L4D2 demo and the fan noise bumped up from silent to quiet :)

Check out the cooler master cosmos 1000. Although a bit pricey, it seems to fit your ideals.

If you can wait a little less than a month, the Silverstone FT02 should be available and should meet your requirements quite well except for #3.

I've been waiting for it for awhile.

It looks to be quiet with 3 huge 180mm fans spinning slowly (adjustable 700rpm, 1000rpm, and one setting higher... forgot) while pumping out a huge amount of air directly over your components and exhausting it out the top.

It should be easy to keep clean because it is a positive air pressure design so all of the vents/holes in the case should have relatively clean air being pushed out of the case. The only intake fans ( 3 180mm) have easy to remove and clean filters under them.

It's unibody aluminum design (steel interior) looks minimalistic. That design also allows it to be placed on the carpet without worry.

Fairly good cable management too.

So.... Clean, Quiet, Great Air Cooling performance, and not flashy (can be purchased with or without window). Whats stopping you except the release date? ;)

Oh yea, there is a thread dedicated to the FT02 with more information here in the Cases and Case Modding forum.

Since you were looking at anything Lian-Li, I don't think the price will be too staggering. It may be $250ish before any shipping.

I'm moving from an Antec P180 original also.
