I am in the market for a good fan controller 3.5" or 5.25" is just fine.

I really only need 2 channels and I don't run any high wattage fans. The highest I currently have is 3.4w.

Total number of fans is 8, 5 of which I would want to hook up to the fan controller.

Here is what I would like.

A way to set the low speed, and then a switch or button that would switch between my chosen low speed and high speed.

I also want the high speed to give a full 12v.

Why not just link your fan speed to your temps so you don't have to constantly manually ajust the speeds?

Because that is not what I want to do.

When gaming, I want the fans at full speed.

When just idling, I just want them set to a speed that I choose.

Sure, I could get something that controls them by temps, but I really don't want to put a bunch of temp sensors all over the place inside my case..

I've had good luck with my lamptron fc4

That is actually one of the ones I was considering. Thanks for the recommendation.

I would have to make a second control for it though so I could just hit a single switch to bypass the controller to put all my fans at full speed.

Another option would be a Sunbeam Rheobus, although it doesn't really have a bypass for full speed outside of manually turning up the fans. I think the newest version is the Rheosmart model.

You could probably wire a simple double throw switch to switch between 7v and 12v.

Why do you want your fans blowing faster than necessary?
