Looking for a Gaming Proccessor

Like the title sais im looking to build a system. Ive built many AMD rigs but im thinking about making a switch to the intel side.

what proccessor do you guys recommend for under 200 dollars that will rock. Would like to know asap. want to order it fast.

Hands down an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Conroe 1.86GHz 2M sharing L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail.

Nothing else at that price point even comes close. If you can spend $220, the E6400 is good too. It's esentially the same cpu, but it's a bit faster and has an 8x multi instead of 7x, which comes in handy if you overclock, which you should if you go with a C2D!

Agreed. The E6300 is better than almost all AMD processors.

It overclocks like a *BANSHEE*

The 6400 is probably the best price/performance ratio...

I suggest you save your pennies and get the E6400. I was also a die-hard AMD fan for a number of years, but had to admit Intel had the best processor for now.

Vote for the E6300, its really a great processor for the money, its even at stock speeds beautifully fast. If you can afford the E6400 though, that multi is nice if your an overclocker.
