So I recently bought a new APC UPS for my workstation and installed the software. I ended up swaping it with another UPS thus not needing the software on that PC anymore.

For whatever reason, to uninstall the software, the UPS needs to be connected to the computer. I can use a USB extender and connect it through my patch panel I guess, but this is just silly. What is the point of this, I just want to uninstall it.

Perhaps the UPS itself has settings changed on it that need to be undone?

I recently just got rid of my APC Personal powerchute software and had the same issue, it still uninstalled for me but it was related to not being sure that the windows power system would turn back on correctly to control the battery.

Stupid that it flips out on you but you can still uninstall.

This is actually a windows problem.
It uses the subsystem MS provides to interface with the UPS.
Since xp/2003 server up to this day with win7 and 2008r2 this had been broken and never fixed.
If you don't use the subsystem then you cant use the designed for Windows logo and it will not be added to the hardware compatibility lists.
