So I've been looking into buying a 5.1 system for my computer. My max budget is around $300 and I have been leaning toward the Logitech z-5500 speakers. Doing a little more research in the Logitech speakers, I've been seeing that the midrange levels for the system are just not there, but the bass is incredible for movies.

Is there a better deal out there for the money?

i have the z5500 but picked them up used for half of retail .for the money it's a steal to me.just a nice all around setup with all the right inputs.i've had them for years with no issue and i'm very happy with them.but if you're looking for a full high fidelity audiophile sound i wouldn't think any "pc" speakers are made that nice anywhere near 300.you would be better off converting a highend home theatre setup with a nice amp.that would run way over 300 also more than likely.

I am not sure what this has to do with home theater PCs

There is a PC audio forum that will give you more/better advice

What are you pairing the system with? Are you aiming to use this for your home theater?
