Logitech MX310

I've used this mouse for a year and half now. It will randomly scroll up like im moving the mwheel. It gets really annoying in games. About to get a headshot then it will scroll up and change my weapon!!!! If you all have no solution to this problem i'm thinking about purchasing the new Logitech MX1000 laser mouse But I would like to salvage this mouse if at all possible.

if ur a mouse beater, like the many others here, definately get a new one. IF not try the mouse on another pc and see if problem persist.

Before you throw it away, wash it in distilled water and let it dry completely. Maybe there's just some dirt or something inside it.

the washing it thing sounds like a good idea..but open it up first so it dries faster/gets cleaner.

the mouse wheel is still using a method like the old ball mice used so it can get dirty and not work right. (At least i think so)

and like that other guy said, try it on a different computer

oh and if you get a new mouse...go with an mx510. the mx1000 will be way heavier than your used to with this thing.

Thanks i'll try that. But is the distilled water really necessary? I couldn't just use tap? Or bottled water?

On second thought, tap water should be fine, any residue wont be enough to kill the mouse.

when you guys say wash it, do you have to take the electronic parts out of it and just wash the shell?

Or, do you just unplug and go crazy on it in the shower, then proceed with drying?

The entire thing after unassembled. I think it's going to be a mechanical problem, but it's not going to hurt the electronics if you let it dry.

Now, going crazy with it in the shower? I wouldn't go that far

Well, it's not the mouse. I unplugged the mouse and it still proceeded to do it. I had a webpage open and it would randomly scroll up when mouse is not connected. None of the keys on the keyboard scroll up and also change weapons according to my bindings in cs. So i'm absolutely clueless.

I also think that you should try the MX510. It's definatly better for gaming and has less weight than MX1000. I use MX510 and Icemat black 2nd ed for me the perfect gaming combo.
