Do I need to have the mouseware installed to use all of the buttons on my MX500 in games? Because with it, the scroll wheel I can't use. (I usually use the up/down buttons) I'd like to use the scroll wheel, but also I want to use all the buttons.

well, i have an mx700 and i don't use mouseware. i can use all the buttons correctly, i just don't think i can program them to do different functions without mouseware.

not sure, i don't play fps

i usually play neverwinter nights, or nfs underground (on this one i use a game pad)

yea, from what I can tell my FPS don't like it too much w/o the mouseware (XIII and Call of duty). Does anyone know if there is a way to make the scroll wheel work in Games with mouseware installed?

aren't there settings for scrollwheel compability in mouseware? like setting it to MS Office compatible or something? Try messing with those settings. Its been a while since i've had that program installed, so i'm not sure. I've been using my MX700 without it and the scroll wheel works fine in GTA

Well, I know there is a registry addition type thing on Logitech's ftp somewhere that is supposed to allow you to use your scroll wheel in games. It was intened for some of the older mice in Windows 98, but i have to use it on my MouseMan Optical in Win2k to get the scroll wheel to work in games. Something to check out, at any rate.

ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/

Its the file called game_whl.exe.

:)

Yea you can change the scroll wheel settings in mouseware but it doesnt do anything for games for me.

in GTA3 my mouse wont work on ANY of the buttons besides the two main ones. No scroll wheel no nothing.

I think I'll try that file and see if it works for me.

I have the mx700, without mouseware, and the the wheel, 2 main buttons, and 2 side (fw/bk) buttons work fine in Halo and Halflife I think are the games I've used it in. The three tiny buttons on top dont work without though.

I have an MX300 and have no problems whatsoever. I didnt want to install any of that mouseware
