OK, My raid array is "critical." I don't understand this as it works fine and seatools says the drive is fine. I'm wondering if I use raidXpert to rebuild the array, will my data be destroyed?

It seems two drives are fine, a WD and a samsung. It's a RAID5 array, BTW. It's just seagate that seems to have the problem, but seatools says it is fine.

The RAID5 array is on the onboard controller.

I'm sorry if I stupid and leave some critical information out.

It is possible that one of the drives temporarily dropped out of the array and is now back up and running again. Since Seatools says the drive is ok, you can rebuild the array. Before you do anything, make sure you have a backup of any critical data. Since you are using RAIDXpert, I expect you have an AMD based motherboard. What motherboard do you have? If you go to Logical Drive View, is rebuild an option? If the rebuild fails, or this occurs again with the same drive, you may want to RMA the drive or replace it.

Rebuild is an option and when I click it the pop up says that all data will be destroyed, but the only drive selected is the seagate.

Yea, I tend to agree that the seagate dropped out of the array, for whatever reason.

On another note, is there a software RAID service for Windows similar to mdadm for Linux? I really miss that program now that I've ditched my Slackbox. I really dislike the BIOS implementation of RAID. It's just ghetto. (RAID5 is not available in disk management, so that's not an option)
