• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

When I try to defrag my machine I get lots of files always locking themselves. I run the cluster inspector in O&O and this is what it comes up with on all the locked files:

lockedfilesforthemonkeysatf.gif

Anyone know how to unlock them?

I have tried many various things in the file properties such as changing owner, switching encryption on and off and nothing works. [sad]

Running Windows 2000 SP4.

try WhoLockMe
(freeware shell extention) then navigate to them in windows explorer, RClick the file > WhoLockMe
assorted aps may hav ahold of em

Some reason, I have installed that software, and right click over the file and go to "Who Locked ME? ...", and nothing happens.

are you employing any encryption or are they encrypted compressed archives (like rar zip ace ect?)
are you doing this from an administrator account

try disabling simple file sharing and taking ownership of those files and folders

I dont want to be alarmist but files you cant access with an administrators account (from inside Windows) are highly suspect and might be malware

Project Honeynet, Know your Enemy Series

specifically
Know Your Enemy: Worms at War & Know Your Enemy: III They gain root

another possibility are they backups or something?

could you post the full paths?
