Ok guys first of all here is my setup. Epox 8rda mobo, AMD 3200, Radeon 9500 softmodded to a 9700 and oc'd like a *****, and Geil 2x256 memory. The problem is, when playing UT2004, it gets a little choppy sometimes. Like it will freeze for half a second and then I will be looking somewhere else. I hope you know what i mean, its juts a bit choppy. This happens most when im playing with a few other bots or players, when its just 1on1 it hardly does it.

What do you think would cause this? I tried turning down all the details and oc'ing my video card a bit more, but that didnt seem to help. What is the problem? Oh yeah, I had no idea where to post this, so I just put it here. :)

Oh I forgot to mention, I ran FRAPS for a bit and the game was running at a constant 80 fps. That is when not oc'd at all, and it was still stuttering.

Lack of RAM, perhaps? I don't know how much UT2k4 eats up, but that sure sounds like it needs to access the hard drive every now and then.

from what i hear this is a common problem, a few of the solutions i remember are: go into the ut2k4.ini file and change "Cachemegsize" from 32 to 128. Then go to your processes list and turn off atiptaxx. From what I understand the program does nothing useful, but turning it off will help stop those freezes.
