Lite on 812s - good drive?

Thinking about buying a dvd burner - know nothing about them. Noticed the lite on 812s is dual format and 8x, is this a good drive?
 
Yes, but writing quality could be better. The NEC2500A is 92 $ at the Egg, and the Pioneer 107 is about 120$. Both are better than the 812S, IMO, and both are 8X for + and -R.
 
Go for the plextor.

It's cost prohibitive eh? I think they have a deal going on right now. Purchase as normal (so I think this would be 160-170), and do this before March 31st = $50 rebate on the equivalent 8x DVD burner you want. PX-708 series...

Google that...check it out... Use pricewatch/pricegrabber + resellerratings to nab it, and you're done.
 
The NEC and Pioneer have faster writing speeds, better writing quality at a lower price.. of course he should buy a Plextor :rolleyes:
