What program do you like best for mechanical drive power management for your Linux server?

I took a Toshiba Canvio Basic out of an external case and stuffed it into a zotac mini pc and installed debian jessie (no gui). When I looked the other day with hdparm it showed an APM level of 127 or 128. When I just looked, it's reading 254.
