I was searching around and a guy made a thread about how he didnt have the correct up to date firmware for this card and it wasn't working.

I presume this was his problem but the thread oconcluded with him saying his pci slots wern't 2.2 or 2.3 compatible.

Im wandering since the specs of this card http://www.linksysbycisco.com/UK/en/products/WMP600N?lid=LearnMore
says it just needs a pci slot, whether my asrock pro3 z68 will support it as the MB only has pci 2.0 slots. So this is my main question/concern for the thread.<

Having done a little research Im wanting to go with the dual N frequency to get the most out of the internet and this card seemed to be the best among the leading providers who I know to be netgear, dlink, lynksys. <<<<<can someone confirm these are infact the leaders of pci wlan adapters.
Also im just a little curious why netgears dual n wlan adapter doesn't say it is good for games and refers to the model number N150 here to be better for games! http://www.netgear.co.uk/service-provider/products/wireless-adapters/wireless-n/WN311B.aspx This doesnt make sense to me as I was under general impression dual N and selecting N for the single computer stream is the fastest/best you can get in terms of switching to 2.4ghc be it necessary in the local area.

I hope this adapter will work with almost any router(the linksys), since I will need to buy my own router soon also supporting dual N frequency band but I currently go of the one in the house my father uses for business on a 2.4ghz standard frequency I will opt for the dual when im back at college so I will need to use his router for a few months. <<also major concern and I have just checked our current router I will need compatiability with and it is an ETEC PTI-845G firware version roughly> 845G_NG_092605.03IA ...although old this router/modem seems to go for £60.

I will save my concern for my presumption about dual N routers being combined into modems aswell until later, just need to clarify few things first before I spend over £100 on one of them :D

could do with ordering wlan adapter tomorrow really as my monitors will arrive soon.
