I was looking to buy this case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811112119 i really love this thing , i already had all the wiring figuredd out and i liked the idea of having my mobo upside down to showcase the gpu. But then the worst happened =/ i seen this review of it http://www.gruntville.com/reviews/cases/lian_li_v2000/page3.php look at the pic with the case and the motherboard installed in it.
I use a zalman 9700 and it clearly will not fit in there and it will hit the part that divides the power supply compartment from the motherboard compartment.
This is a big flow on this beautifull case, all lian li had to do was move it down couple of mm in height. They gave so much space in height to the power supply compartment and the hard drive compartment wich is unnecessary , wile instead they should of given more room to the mobo compartment. I guess when they built this case they didnt take in cosideration big bulky cpu coolers. Even theyr newest PC-V2100plusII have the same interior design of the PC-V2000plusII and it will not fit my zalman 9700.
This really sucks cause i really loved that case =((((((((((((((((

I guess its silverstone tj09 time for me.
 
Yes. I have a v2000 and the PS area is a little odd. The two 80mm fan mounts are I guess necessary if you want to use a small radiator but do radiators even come in 80mm sizes?

I used the PSU giant area to mount two ATX units standing upright. It would be nice to custom fab a bracket b/c right now they are just lying there unsupported by hardware.

I have a pretty small mobo and it's pretty difficult to deal with the PCI area since it's cramped near the top of the case.

The V2000 is pretty good tho b/c you can put two 120mm fans stacked to cool the hdd.

The TJ09 has a pretty odd HDD cooling scheme because it seems to only cool 3/6 drives because the bracket is inbetween the hdd cages.

The TJ07 is a little better on cooling because there is a 120mm fan for both of each cages.

I would say my v2000 is MUCH better than my SS b/c the lian-li is much more solidly built.

Both are good cases tho and the TJ09 is much cheaper than the nearly $400 I paid for my TJ07 when it came out.

The TJ09 compared to the V2000 series I would say is superior because the V2000 has no intake for the top 1/2 of the case besides little holes.

I installed a scythe kama bay and that helped get CPU temps down.

Thery are both pretty much the same price. But I do like that the v2000 has the top 1/2 of the case and the bottom half separated because it creates thermal zones.

Air into case --> over hdd --> out psu fans

Air into case --> cpu --> out 120mm rear fan.

The problem like you say with the CPU cooler may be able to be solved if you cut into the aluminum divider between the psu and mobo area.

I don't think that it really helps reinforce the case itself.

Alltogether the lian-li is a little flimsy on the internals and the SS I have is much thicker gauge aluminum on the inside but not having the fit and finish of the LL.

Hard choice imo.
