I have a Gigabyte B760M-DS3H and Intel i5-12400 sitting in a box. However, I installed the CPU in the mobo. Thinking about the sheer amount of force required to pull down the lever, I'm wondering did I already bend the CPU? I was thinking about buying a contact frame for better temps. (I read the contact frame gives better temps even idle.)

It should not be possible to put CPU in wrong direction so likely nothing to worry.
Force needed is a bit high because the last thing you want is power pins to have weak contact.

Contract frame for better temps on... Core i5 12400?
If it was at least 13600K and expected to be OCed to hell and back then yeah, might make some sense... but in reality contacts frames is something Core i9 users who also intend heavy OC worry about.

I read the contact frame can rip up memory tracers nearby so I never used one. Thus giving errors

Yeah, I read someone cracked his contact frame. Then I read the contact frame won't make much difference in temperatures with the i5-12400. So I guess I'll forget about the contact frame and grin and bear it if it doesn't work out well.

I kind of wonder if this is one of the reasons Intel chose to make the Bartlett CPUs embedded.
