Looking for nice digital camera in the $200 range.

Pictures are for mostly my home, blowing up for posters and some smaller ones for framing.
Purchased a Coolpix L100 just based off playing with it at best buy, but coming home, then reading reviews makes me feel the camera is undesirable.

I know i should use it to see if it satisfies my needs, but i figured i'd ask for some input before i decide to keep it or not.

Thanks for the input guys.

first of all - what do you not like about your nikon?

i've been a fan of fujifilm f-series compact cameras for over 5 years... so i would recommend the f200exr.

has a
1/1.6" sensor, about 45% larger in area than most compact cameras.

it's all about the dynamic range...
linky [here] and real world example [here]

I'm into nikon dslr's now, but know next to nothing about their P&S linup. I used to shoot Canon P&S's, so that's usually what I recommend when asked about those. There are plenty of good ones out there now - really depends on what you want it to do.

Looking at the tech specs for L100 on B&H, I'm not seeing any red flags at all - looks like a really great camera for the price - very versitile lens and good ISO range for P&S. I say keep shooting with it and try to grow into it.

I have a Kodak z1012 IS, and I find it to be pretty good for all around use. I use it at home for the kids and pets, in the woods for wildlife, and at the racetrack for some good action shots.

Edit to add, it also does 720p video, which is pretty cool. I don't know anything about other cameras, but I like this one.
