Both 17" and 19" LCDs are only capable of 1280x1024 resolution.

And yes it should be able to max everything.

Yes I forgot, if you don't have 2gb of ram you will be forced to run medium settings.
 
I am in the process of ordering parts...will have 2gb of ram

the san diego will be overclocked :)

Actually you can run on maxed out settings with 1GB of RAM, but the game really needs at least 1.5GB. If it has 1.5GB or less, there will be times where the game runs fine and then suddenly pauses so that it can write stuff to the page file. You would still get good framerates, but you will have these pauses. So yeah 3700+ + 7800 GT + 2GB RAM and you're good to go.

I can run BF2 @ 1280 x 1024 (on my 17" LCD) with most of the settings on high and others on medium. I'm pretty sure I'd be able to go all the way with a 7800GT.
 
My bud has a AMD Athlon 64 3200+, 1Gb of ram, and a 7800GT.

Can't go past medium settings or it's a HD chug fest.
