Are they that much better? I saw on the front page that some manufacturers will be using LED screens one laptops on the second half of 07. I don't know if I should wait for it or just get a new laptop after the new chipset from Intel is released along with Vista.

Dont wait for it. You will always see somthing new that is "coming out in a year." New tech usually has bugs. If I was you I'd buy a laptop with a high res widescreen lcd and be happy.

That's what I'm thinking but I don a lot of photography and I need to have a really good screen. Regardless, I don't have a choice as I need one by May.

Depending on the brand you can usually upgrade the lcd when you order it. There are some very nice notebook screens out there. Just be sure to pick the right brand of notebook. good luck!

I got one of the Dell 2007fps in Ottawa. I got a PVA and I really don't like PVA but it also had banding so I returned it for a refund. Then I bought another CRT. If I get another LCD in this size, I am going with the HP. I would much rather pay a bit more and get what I want than waste my time dicking around returning random dell panels.

@OP: Are you talking about LED backlit LCDs, or OLED displays?
