Leadtek Winfast PVR not showing MPEG4

I purchased the Leadtek XP2000 Expert from newegg and installed the drivers and Winfast PVR application from the Leadtek website (not from the cd). I noticed that MPEG-4 compression ddin't show up as a selection and I found the codec on the cd which I then installed but it is still not showing up as a default choice. If I "Add" a new scheme and point it at MPEG-4 it is happy but the files created are huge .AVI and not mpegs.

Any ideas?
