Hey,

I was wondering if there was anyway to decrease backlight bleed on this monitor. Its pretty bad on the top and bottom whent he screen is pitch black. I only paid 199 for it so I am willing to work with it.

I am using all of the stock settings accept for
100 brightness
0 contrast
100 red
94 green
96 blue

Is there anyway to limit the back light bleed besides returning the monitor?

I'm no expert, but I always heard that you go for contrast over brightness. Also, that could be your problem. Seems to me that brightness would either a) increase intensity of backlight (leading to bleeding) or b) rotate the pixels in such a way that more light escapes (leading to bleeding).

May want to try that out. BTW, I just got a 22" westy today and have noticed very little bleed only at the central top and bottom, but not radiating for more than an inch, and only noticable on solid black background.

Hope it helps

Anyone have any good settings for this. More contrast and less brightness seems to lessen the backlight a bit.

any help?

Do you guys think I would be able to ebay this thing and upgrade to non TN film lcd? How much would it go for? I really like the 22" WSXGA+ (Gamer) LCD.
